from the 29th of November to the 2nd of December 2024
In the green of the Vallée de Chevreuse, behind its door of secrets… the Domaine de Quincampoix reveals 2,000 m² of emotions patinated by ancient dynasties and contemporary creations.
Here, elsewhere. Time has passed… only for the authenticity of Thierry Grundman’s love of antiques. Thierry Grundman is an itinerant antique dealer with a discerning eye. From passions to round-the-world trips, this bargain hunter in search of wonders has amassed a collection of 15,000 pieces of furniture, objects and collectibles from the 12th to the 20th centuries from the four corners of the earth.
Founder of the Wabi-Sabi Lab, whose first edition will take place from November 28 to December 2, Thierry Grundman is opening the Domaine de Quincampoix to a collective of around thirty artists, gallery owners, craftsmen and antique dealers who share his passion for Wabi-Sabi.
This ancient aesthetic and philosophy values imperfection, the patina of time and the transience of things. It’s a principle according to which harmony lies in naturalness and spontaneity, not in the absence of flaws. Promoting elegance and nobility in sobriety, it has dominated Japanese art at the highest level.
A unique journey: between art and know-how
The Wabi-Sabi Lab will not be an exhibition of booths and exhibitors. It’s a selection of designers, artists and gallery owners whose work will be presented in an original and inspiring scenography.
A “chine” journey, a harmonious selection of pieces united by an aesthetic coherence and the emotion they evoke.
In addition to antiques from all over the world, the exhibition will also showcase reuse, repair and repurposing, as well as ancient and modern know-how and unique artistic practices.
Furniture, objects, ceramics, textiles, paintings, sculptures… almost every form of artistic expression will be on display in an unusual scenography designed by Daniel Rozensztoch.
A voyage of discovery, emotion and wonder, as opposed to the banality that inundates our daily lives. And behind it all, the human face, the artist, the gallerist, the creator with whom you’ll interact.

We’ve chosen excellent, minimally processed products, purchased directly from the producers. It’s a tasty journey through our French provinces, with a side trip to Spain for the wonderful Bellota Iberian ham, or to Tuscany for other delicacies. As for the soups, they’re all homemade, with vegetables from local growers and the creativity of our chef Christophe.
Pre-ordering online saves you time and avoids queuing at the restaurant. And it allows us to better anticipate quantities, thus avoiding shortages or food waste.
Because we’re gourmets and love conviviality, we’ve selected wine, champagne, sake and fruit juices producers who are leaders in their fields.
A gourmet break, delicious drinks and artistic immersion…
A convergence of know-how, creativity and conviviality, the Wabi-Sabi Lab promises a unique experience in a historic setting: the Domaine de Quincampoix.
And because we like the idea of young people learning about art, creation and different forms of beauty expression, don’t hesitate to bring your children – admission is free up to the age of 18.
